The Beginning
Miss Mn Valley Scholarship Program is a non-profit organization established in 2009 to provide scholarship money for 16-18 year olds in the Minnesota Valley Region. The program started with Joy Newgard researching Scott County’s past royalty programs for the Scott County Historical Society. She saw different areas from past programs that she felt could be improved upon. The program is being built around the candidates learning about their own communities, including the history, local businesses, and volunteer opportunities while having fun meeting new friends, and learning new life skills.
